Got mine in VA today. Looks great.
Arrived in Conn today and it looks just great!
The 39 is an amazing year and having owned a 36 and a 51 I have to say I like the 39. With the overdrive it is a pleasure to drive and keep up with traffic. The ony hazard are people who "have" to pass you just to figure out what it is....LOL!

The back cover shows the car with whitewall on the INSIDE. Note the passenger side front tire. Did they REALLY have whitewalls inside AND outside? Or was this done just for photo advertising purposes? I've never seen that before on tires.

I've seen dual whitewall tires like that, but usually reserved for very expensive cars. At least as restored cars, anyway.
Interesting to see dual whitewall tires mounted to a DeSoto. Maybe you're right and it was for advertising purposes to elevate that car's status a bit.

Jim, I wish I could say I noticed that when I first saw the ad... but, ummmm, no. Nice catch

That's funny... because when I seen the back cover, it POPPED out at me almost first thing.

I have seen tires turned around because the owner didn't want whitewall tires. i have not seen or heard of the dual whitewalls before.

We had an engineer at work who had the whitewalls put on the inboard side, so that they wouldn't get scuffed. Then when he sold the car he would have the tires re-mounted so that they would look new, at least the sidewalls. At least, that's what someone told me.
Got mine today, looks great.
