Is it necessary to remove the window glass in the doors in order to replace the outside cat whisker stripping?
Maybe someone has an easier solution. It appears the strips are stapled in place.
Removing the rear glass in a 4 door hardtop seems an onerous task to replace the weatherstrip cat whisers.
thanks
I did this on my 55 2 door with the panels off and the window out. that is the only way you can get to the back side of the staples to bend the ends out straight to remove them and save them. I suppose you could cut the staples from the frontside and push the ends through (and lose them) but then you would have to make a new way to attach the new strip. maybe you could get in there with tiny pop rivets with the metal window trim off. make sure the stainless trim on the top of the new piece is placed correctly on the door.
