I need a new carburetor for my 1949 S11 Custom. It has an electronic quizmo bolted on top. See attachment. I have no idea what it's function is. Can anyone tell me what it does and also a good source to buy a carburetor?

Chuck, the "gizmo" is part of the fluid drive shifting wiring. Got to have it for a fluid drive car. I can't help you with where to find one though. Is yours rebuildable? Les

Les,
My mechanic says probably not. Best to find another one.

What do mechanics know, rebuild it first lol then if you need other parts, buy another carb that is used off the forum and take good parts and make one great carb.
