Had a bad day yesterday. Electric gates malfunctioned and closed on my car mid exit. As i was reversing the motore to open the door caught the trim on the passenger door, pulled it off the clipps back 2 clips and pushed it forward bending the trim on the fender spear. I have pushed it back and am left with the top thick door trim bent out at the rear side of the door about 6 inches from the body and some dents and bent bits on the thin trim.
My question is for those who have had to do this before will some one with the right skills and equipment get this right again (the rest of the car and trim is excellent) or would you start looking for some replacement bits.
A couple of poor quality pics are attached for the thin bits and a nice 'before' pic.
Any thoughts appreciated, does anyone have the trim pieces?
Simon
From the pictures you provide, the trim on the quarterpanel looks like a very time consuming (translate: costly) repair, and it would be more economical to find a replacement. The piece on the door can probably be repaired.
It's supposed to be fun!

Thanks for your input. i agree re the quarter panel piece as hopefully it will not be too hard to find as it will be the same as the 4 door presumably.
Anyone out there have this piece or any 2 door trim?
The quarter trim on a four door will be too short. Part of the length of the trim will be taken up in the piece that is on the rear door.

Thanks for the heads up Tim, i didn't realise that. I will narrow my search.
Simon,
If you can't find a suitable replacement, I've straightened '57 Bel Aire quarter spears much worse than that back when I owned Vintasia Carriage Works in Evansville, IN.
I know I can get it "useable" if not perfect. If you're interested, my contact info is in the roster issue.

Thanks for the offer. I am in the UK (now added to profile) so better to get it done over here. Thanks anyway.
