I have received a question about Automotive sales CO. of Memphis TN being the largest in the nation? (circa 1954?)
The dealership was located at 309 Union in Memphis and if you look at the building (that still stands) it is a huge building. Maybe that is what they meant, the size of the building? Because I thought that largest volume (number of sales) dealership was George Byers and sons of Columbus.
Can anyone shed some light on this subject? It is for an upcoming magazine article written by someone that wants to check their information before it goes to print. (not me)
Thanks in advance for your time and efforts in this matter.
Also if anyone could provide images of the dealership back then or other information I will forward them to the writer.
