Should all 49 and 50 desoto's normally have an anti stall switch and back up switch?
I am having problems finding them on my car.
I assume the anti stall switch has to be on the carb, but unfortunately it isn't.
Can anyone help?
Can take a picture from the carb if necessary.
Thanks

Alex, I would have responded sooner but was waiting for someone that knows more about this than I do.

The anti-stall is on the carb.. Could it be that someone replaced the carb with one from a car with a standard transmission? I am assuming you would have to by-pass the anti-stall someway but have no idea how that would be done.

I am not sure about the back-up switch either. I don't know if it would be the same as my '52.

Did you try contacting the '49 year technical advisor? He should be able to help you.
