Help! Does anyone know of a retainer that works with the 59 upper side molding (smaller one). The parts book lists #6010202 for the fender and #6000030 for the doors and quarter panel. I suppose one is a push-in type and the other has a screw and nut. I haven't been able to find either of these numbers or an aftermarket cross reference. I have a few from a parts car that are the wire clip push-in type, kind of like a door panel clip. They work fine, but I need many more.
Some years ago I used a universal retainer (butterfly type) that came in a box labeled WE 180. Can't track that down either. I've looked on ebay and in the catalogs of Gary Goers, NAPA, Restoration Specialities, AuVeCo, and AutoFastCo. None seem to have the right size, most are too large. Maybe I've overlooked something. Thanks for any leads.

He's a good guy to boot...
next time you're in Tacoma check out LDI (laquer dist. ) on center street..they have an amazing selection of clips.
Hi Barrett, I am way over in the UK and I need the same clips. I am doing a complete restoration on my 59 Firesweep and found a company that makes springs. They made me the right and left door handle springs, which were perfect. I couldn't find those clips anywhere either, so I asked the springmaker if he could manufacture them. He can and I am just waiting for a quote to arrive. If the price is ok, I'll send you some out to the US. How many do you require?
Regards.
