Turn signals stopped flashing on my 57 Sportsman(S26) and for the life of me I can't find the flasher. The wiring diagram shows it get's it power from a black wire off the fuel gauge and exits with a red wire to the switch. Looked and looked, mostly with a mirror, and can't find the darn thing. Any hints? I assume it's the standard round silver style.

Nothing mysterious there, Tim, you just need to look harder. I suggest finding some skinny kid in his teens who can comfortably fit between the all-the-way-back seat and the steering column, show him what you're looking for, and give him a penlight flashlight for between his teeth! I'm not joking! It's there, but under-dash work is never easy.
On a '56, it's clipped to the left side of the assembly that makes up the brake pedal hanger. Might be the same for the '57?
It's supposed to be fun!

Well I finally found the darn thing! It looks more like a circuit breaker like the one on the headlight switch than the normal round silver type. I ended up wiring in an extra bulb and got it to blink occasionally. It was still tough to find out where the click was coming from. It's mounted right next to the high beam indicator bulb. Installed a new round silver style and now I have turn signals.
