OK, guys/gals. This might be the opportunity you've been waiting for. I just spoke with a gentleman who has a decent collection of cars, including a black and gold '57 Adventurer HT, and he's thinning the herd. The DeSoto is for sale. He's the 2nd owner, and still has the original paperwork. Car has been in indoor storage for the last 10 or so years, and was painted once. Non-original interior, NON-ORIGINAL 341 engine but with Adventurer-specific parts on it (dual carbs, air cleaners). Has newer radial tires on 15" non-orig wheels but no Adventurer wheelcovers. Car has PS, PB, PW, no A/C. Supposedly transmission was rebuilt. Owner says all stainless is excellent, bumpers are not Barret-Jackson quality, but almost. He said he starts the car up a time or so each year, but it hasn't been driven lately. Probably needs wheel cylinders and routine items. Exhaust is routed under the rear bumper. Dual fin antennas.
Unfortunately, the man is not computer-savvy, and couldn't email pictures to me, so I HAVE NOT PERSONALLY SEEN THIS CAR NOR DO I KNOW THE SELLER.
This gentleman is a relatively private person, and doesn't want a lot of tire-kickers. If you think you may be seriously interested, contact ME and I will give you his phone numbers. Car is in eastern Pennsylvania, not far off Interstate 80. He may be able to have his daughter take pictures with a phone and send them to serious potential buyers.
He's looking for $32,500 for the car.
MY contact information is via email, desoto@pathway.net Good luck!
