Ray, engines appear on craigslist and there are some on there now, I believe.
I see free transmissions from time to time and even called about one near me not long ago.
Saw pics of your car on FB. Good luck with it.

The serial number listed confirms that the car a 1956 model in the serial number range for the Fireflite model. The Adventurer models were also included in the Fireflite range of numbers. I assume Ray identified the car as a Fireflite from the script on the car. Finding parts will be a challenge. Mac

First ... Thank You for saying The De Soto.
In "GM" Language the car is about equal to The Olds. In FoMoCo Language
you can equal it to a Mercury. To us in The Land of MoPar it is intended to
be slightly lower than a 1956 Windsor.
The 1956 S-24 Fireflite had some higher classed or more "Appointments"
than a S-23 Firedome. Even though they both used a 330 Cubed Engine,
the S-23 was normally a 2 bbl with single exhaust and the S-24 was a 4 bbl
with dual exhaust. Both of them used a Push Button Operated/ Selected
2 speed Power-Flite Transmission.

By letting others know where you are - you may have a Engine and Transmission
