Just got my 53 Firedome wagon back from the paint shop. The pads under the tailgate hinges were trash, and I couldn't locate any on line. So my son-in-law cut me some from 1/16-inch black rubber on his laser cutter. He started with tracings of the hinges, scanned the trace, used some CAD tool to add 1/8 inch to the outline, and there you are! Only took three tries to get the right size.

Now that the setup is done, and I have a little rubber left over, I could make another set or two if anyone happens to need them. Best is email to drjohn96@me.com.

These hinges appeared to have been chromed when new, but it's so hard to find a chrome shop in southern California any more, I just went with body paint. Using new stainless cross-head bolts and the black pads, I think it looks fine. Updated car pictures will be on my blog soon.

Hola John

I do not have a Estate Wagon, nor are there any in this area that I know
of. But - it sure looks good in quality and painted the same colour as
the body.
