I get slightly conflicting answers looking for the windshield for my 53 Firedome Wagon. The Imperial forum has a post that says there were three 53-54 windshields: W279 for club coupes, 4 door sedans and 4 door wagons; W280 for 8 passengers and limos; and W281 for 2 door sedans and convertibles. Then I saw a listing for a W282 for 53-54 Estate Wagons. So I'm a little confused. Anybody know the right answer. I'll ready for the windshield soon.
Thanks
James Smith
The W282 is the correct windshield for the wagon. Go here...... http://jholst.net/interchange/15-glass.pdf
By the way, I've been looking for some time now for the same windshield. Do they have 2 or more??
Phil
Your wagon looks nice. What color is your red?
Thanks. The color is Venom Red from the recent Chrysler codes, slightly modified.
The listing I found for the W282 was old. They don't have any and can't find any. I'm going to check into the price of a new one from http://www.procurveglass.com/
My old cracked windshield is good enough for a template for these folks to make a new one.
Procurve Glass can made any windshield with a template (i.e. and old windshield to start from). Unfortunately the first windshield would cost about $6K and includes making the jigs. The follow-on windshields would cost a mere $2K.
Jim, try these two. They may still be around.
