Hey everyone. I was hoping someone on here can help me. I'm wonder if there is a serial number stamped on the frame somewhere. I'm in the process of having the vin on the title changed and the law likes it if there is more then one location for the serial number. Thanks
Anyone!
Dan,
My only first hand experience was with a 1956 Chevrolet that I observed the FBI take the numbers off of the top of the left front frame rail just over the "axle" and from the top of the frame rail just in front of the front seat. The latter required cutting a hole in the floor board with an oxyacetylene torch (while they were in suits and ties in August!).
I know there are confidential numbers on all domestic cars but I don't know in what year the requirement was instituted.
Best of luck,
Geoff
Let us all know once you get this figured out.
Well I have a little discovery to share. I started to look around on the frame by the rear axle for a serial number, well I didn't find a serial number but I did find frame rail assembly numbers indicating left frame rail and right frame rail.
