Steve

I will drive to where it is at and have a personal "look see" and copy
numbers. I believe he lives about 47 minutes north of us.

Thank You for pointing this out.

Hola Yo'll

I did drive to have a look at the parts, and then made a couple of changes
to the original post.

He has what he has and does not know of "alternate years - variants or uses".

Roger, please do not do that to the original post. It totally screwed me up as to what was going on. Besides, we cannot have anyone changing the original post.
And is there really a 290?

Hola Paul

I did not correct the original wrong number to confuse you. It is just one
of those things that happened.

Even though I wrote 290 cubes - it is wrong. For some time I have heard
De Soto Member's say the size this way and I some-how knew they were
speaking of The S21 Engine. It is the same for the others who say 291 Cubes
as they are speaking about what is printed as 290.8 .

If you are interested in the parts either for your-self or another --- please
call the number given and you can make the arrangement with Rich for those
De Soto Parts that he has.

A question for you ( so that you may help others ) who want to know: Will
the Intake Manifold also fit other years or sizes of De Soto V8's ???

Roger

Were you trying to call me the other day?

Anyway, that would be for a '55 Fireflight. The price is good if it is in good shape and has the linkages.. The heat chamber needs to be looked at to make sure it isn't cracked.

Have a nice day
Steve

Roger. I know you were not trying to screw me up. It was just strange when Steve mentioned 276s did not come with 4 barrels and then the next night the post is talking about 290s. It was just, you know ...

I called this guy. He's not the best communicator. Trying to find out if the carb and air cleaner are correct for 55 Desoto. Spoke to him twice, but he hasn't gotten back to me. Rodger, did you happen to check the tag on the carb to see if it's a 2210, or the part number on the air cleaner ? Did you get any pictures ?

Thanks,

Ron

Ron

I took one photo of the Carburetor "Tag" and when I got home realized
the glare of the sun makes it all impossible to view.

The Square Bore Carter AFB Carburetor still has the center long bolt and
its OEM "wing nut".

The Oil Bath Air Cleaner is what I will call "Original OEM" ( it may still
have non-detergent oil in it ).

The Intake Manifold even still has The Original "choke Assembly". As
you can see the intake has not been "pretty'd up" ( which is why I could not
read the number correctly ).
