Is the engine stuck or does that turn over by hand? Often the rings will rust up and stick to the cylinder walls in a car that has been sitting a long time. Did you pull the head off yet? If there was a leaky head gasket you'll probably have some stuck pistons.

Have a nice day
Steve

Try http://hagensautoparts.com/desoto/28-en ... kets/6168/ They aren't cheap but they have every thing you could need in a gasket

There is most probably rust on the cylinder walls. Don't pry any more! Pull the head off and see what you have in there. Mouse nests? Coolant leaks into some cylinders? Yes, that's normal. Clean the crud out as best you can then use modern chemicals to remove as much crust as possible. Ridge ream the cylinders first. Then push all the clean pistons out first then gently persuade the sticky ones with chemicals and love. Make sure you keep track of which part goes in which hole.

How far do you go??????????????

It's up to you. Me? I'd fix what needs fixing then DRIVE!!!

Have a nice day
Steve
