Unregistered users may browse the website, but in order to participate in the forums and view select pages (such as "Club Contacts" and "Classified Ads") a user account is required. Click HERE to email the webmaster and request a free account. The National DeSoto Club uses real names rather than pseudonyms. Notify the webmaster of your user name preference (Johnathon Doe vs. John Doe, etc.), preferred email address, and password request.
I am still looking for high quality photos for next year's calendar. I prefer to use those that are submitted by members if they meet the criteria below. I was not able to attend this year's convention, so I do not have that to fall back on.
The criteria you ask? The photo needs to be high resolution. At this late point, I have to ask that submissions are electronic; they should be at least 1MB in file size, preferably several times larger. The photo needs to be high quality when blown up to fit an 8½ x 11 page. If not you took it with the camera in your phone, it is probably sufficient size unless you have settings that limit it.
The composition of the picture improves your chance of making the calendar. The background should not be “busy” such as a row of cars at a show (the picture should primarily be of your car, not the entire row) or in the garage with lots of stuff stacked around to distract from the vehicle. One of my favorite submissions last year was Jack & Cindy Johnson's 1940 Coupe. Very simple background that drew your attention right to the car.
