No doubt that the organizers are aware of this thread and can respond if they want.
What I offer are cost-cutting ideas in order to keep prices reasonable and at the same time, avoid losing money. The organizers can listen to my suggestions...or not.
>You portray that each member should eat the cost or donate the cost to do some of the printing.
This is *not* what I said. Please reread my post.
Signs can be printed in less than an hour. They can be printed now, next week or whenever they have a free moment.

If you are so concerned about the costs then why not volunteer your services and also become a member of the Maryland Chapter and then get totally involved in the planning and cost reduction process. So if you have the ideas to help cut costs then go most people would say help the organizers.
At this point we have all heard your constant complaining about the costs but no real action to help cut the costs. As for me at this point I and done trying to make you understand the costs to run a convention. So last years convention was 30 or 35 to register. This years convention permitted the peole with trailer to park on the hotel lot but next year the show field is in the fairgrounds and they are cgarging to park the trailers. So do you want the people with non trailered cars to also pay a portion of the fee. If so then the cost would be even high for the general reg.
So with all of your knowledge then provide the ways to cut the costs and if you do then you might have something to show instead of just comments.

I would in fact join the Maryland chapter...if I didn't live seven hours away.
Don't attack me because my beliefs are different from yours.

Ron:
I am not attacking you, but are just complaining about the cost. MAny7 people have suggested that you call the organizers to get a first hand reply and not from this posting. Not all postings are read by everyone so there is no way to confirm that the 2016 convention organizers are even looking at this post.
So again, if you have concrete ideas and proven ways that the Maryland chaper can cut the cost then please contact them to see if they can implement them to help save money. ALso the Maryland presented their convention plans at this years convention that was held in Kalamazoo. During the time of the general meeting all of the costs were discussed by Tom and presented to the current board of trustees and alo all of the members that were attending the General Meeting. I am not sure if you attended the 2015 convention or not, but if you did, then the question is did you stand up and raise your issue at that time. I attended the meeting and heard all of the comments and replies. So basically if you do not like the fees and the costs then you have two options, 1. attended and pay the fees like everyone else or 2 not attend. Its basically that simple.
I am now done discussing this issue with you. The ultimate decision is up to you.
Rich Hartung
No, I was not in Kalamazoo. Organizers can comment here if they wish.

Exactly.
