I'm working on the Desoto I bought in El Paso on the right.
The pink one on the left came from Illinois, It's gonna take a bit longer.
Sure wish I had a drivers side front fender.

Dane: Welcome to the forum and the hopefully you will join the NDC. The 59 is one of the more popular years and there is much help available

What series are your cars? While all 59s look alike there are major differences between the Firesweep and all other series (Firedome/Fireflite/Adventurer) like colors, front fenders, engines, wheels, owners manual etc

The NDC is also plotting the production of the 59s as we believe the numbers usually posted on the web are incorrect. What do your data plates look like? If you can post them or copy them, we will translate them for you

Good luck

Bob Terpak

Hi Bob
Both cars are Firesweep's 2spd automatic.
I'll attach a photo of the bare metal one.
You have already looked at the data plate on the pink one.
See below
Your car is a 1959 (M) Desoto (4) Firesweep (1) made in Detroit (2) the 6193rd made in Detroit (some were made in LA). It was made on Wednesday January 14, 1959 (0114). We have found a 4 door sedan also made that date VIN 6189 only 4 cars before yours
413 is probably 412 (rusty) 4 being Desoto, 1 Firesweep (2) 2 door hardtop 413 would be a four door sedan
XPX your colors X pearl White top/ P Tangier Rose body/ X Pearl White sweep
314 your interior an off white seat with a black/gray triangle like cloth pattern insert
Do you have carpeting? Wheel covers or hubcaps? Cars with hubcaps have the wheels painted the body color- we are looking for some samples
Automatic transmission or standard? There were a few sticks in 59 and like the hubcaps we need some pictures

Thank you Bob, that is pretty cool info.

If anyone out there has a 59 Firesweep drivers side fender please let me know.
I'll travel anywhere I have to to get one, and pay any reasonable price.
Thanks, Dane Sharp
