The interior of my firesweep has been painted over and I can't find paint codes for interior colors. I lightly sanded over interior pieces & from colors I looked up on internet, it looks like it might match an exterior color Heather Blue Metallic. I have the 59 spring special with exterior colors (Bradenton Blue & Pearl White) with plaid and white vinyl seats. I'm in process of body off restoration.
The web site autocolorlibrary.com has information on the available interior moulding colors for the 59 DeSoto Firesweeps as well as those for the Domes and Flites. Mac

Thanks: The vin # is ML361*****has change to equal the engine number. It's a California car. It's been re-upholstered but the Nassau Plaid is still underneath. Since my 1st post, I found some pictures of a 59 spring special on web (forwardlook.net) & got an ideal of the interior colors & just need color codes. The Brandon Blue for exterior is on the 1960 color chart listed as 59 spring special.
If your car was made in CA, the factory VIN would be M414 1xxxxx; if the car was made in Detroit the VIN would be M412 1xxxxx. There should be a metal tag by the driver's door hinge with M41x on the top line and the 6 digit number below.
The ML 361 refers to the engine.
As you have noted there is a sample of the Bradenton Blue (Q) referenced as a 59 Spring color on the regular 1960 paint charts. Your data plate would show something like XQQ which is a Pearl White top, a blue body and blue between the chrome lines (the sweep) XQX would be a white top/blue body/white sweep and so forth

The tag number was changed to be the same as engine number because of engine thief as I've been told by others. The tag or vin # on my Desoto is ML361xxxxx.

Thanks, I've used this website before & found it very helpful especially for DeSoto & Chrysler corp classic car owners. They give color & codes of interior paint but not the chip color to view. I know the interior trim color of my car was a consistent dark blue. The only blue available on the Ditzler interior color sheet for Firesweep is Lake Blue Poly & I don't know what it looks like. Also on my car the blue looks like it may have metallic in it. Would it be that the spring special interior color be of some special color? Thanks you very much for replying.

Here's a pic from a 59 Firesweep Seville spring special I found on the web which shows the color my dash should be. Does anyone have a clue of what the color name or code is for this dash?
Hi, Tunice - Sorry if I'm not understanding your question correctly...
...If you cannot find the "correct" code number, would there be an issue with having a very reputable paint company mix a colour as close to your original interior colour as possible? It would seem to me that that is all modern paint companies have done anyway before they label a colour with a "correct" name and code number...whether they do so by eye or by computer. I don't know about DeSoto owners, but I've spoken with the owners of other makes of cars who have used the "correct" paint only to find it to be a shade or two off of their original paint colour. I'm not sure that there was that much consistency in paint colours when our cars where brand new, to tell you the truth.
Best of luck with your restoration. Looking forward to seeing the finished product!

Thanks Rosemary: I think your ideal is the way to go. I plan on maybe taking the dash with me to the paint store & have them scan it.
