The firesweep I am restoring has 4 different wheels (3 14" and 1 15"). I know the car came with 14" x 6" wheels but do not know the backspacing and the spacing is different on the three 14" wheels on the car. I am going to buy a matching set of steel wheels. what is the proper back spacing needed?

Sir

This would be a good time to say Welcome To The Site.

They made your car for several years. Which year do you have
for next to the left of this screen is --- Resources ?

The De Soto Volunteer Tech next to your year just maybe be able
to answer your question.

Do let us know what you find out if it is OK with you.

Welcome, Conrad!

Hang in there; someone will know the answer to your question.

Or as Roger wrote, just contact the Technical Advisor for the '58 models by clicking on the "Resources" listed on the left hand side of this main screen.

Good luck!

Post some photos when you have time!

8)

wow, 4.5" back spacing on 6" wheel.

That does not match any of the wheels on the car so i will have to buy all four. The three 14" wheels on the car measure 2.5" to 3.75" backspacing.

4" seems to be the standard available on steel wheels (wheel vintiques series 62)

Thanks for the responses
