Is there any source for the front white and gold plastic emblems for '56? I had taken mine off for cleaning and fixing up some chrome parts and my brother accidentally broke it by setting a big bucket on it. I may be able to glue it back together somehow. I'm guessing repros, if anyone makes them, are prohibitively expensive, but thought I should check anyway. Thanks!

Hi Amanda,

I assumed you looked here already......... http://emblemagic.com/desoto.htm

A nice used one, just might turn up at the Convention. Never know.

Emblemagic lists them, but the few times I've contacted them for something, they don't have anything in stock and the turn around time is like 9 months. Plus they're at least as expensive as George Laurie if not higher....

George Laurie has always filled my order in a timely manner, despite stories you can read about otherwise.

Give him a shot.

Here's his list....

It's supposed to be fun!

I can second that! I got one of George Laurie's reproduction front emblems for my Firesweep, and even though he sold it to me as a "second", I think that it looks perfect! George is notoriously fussy.

yikes, that's just ridiculous.

I've never heard of anybody complain about the longevity of George's repros. The seller claims they don't hold up as long as the originals.

It's supposed to be fun!

They have been known to have outrageous prices and this is yet another example.
On the other hand it makes us look all the harder for that elusive bargain :)

I second that. Mitchell Motor Parts is always high priced.
