I need a little guidance on the original fuel tank. My fuel tank has the original cork float...does anyone know if the ethenal in todays fuel will affect my float negatively?

not sure, but its not like you can pick up yester-years fuel on every street corner, so what choice do you have lol if the gas gauge stops working, and mine did, then you will probably need a ping pong ball.

You might try http://www.buyrealgas.com/ and see if there's a station near you that sells non-ethanol fuel. Cars with carburetors run better on real gas, anyway. And your mileage will be better, too.

It's supposed to be fun!

Chris, there is acttually a gas station with non ethanol gas in AZ. Where is it - Yuma, Stafford? Apparently it is out of Maricopa County. I do not seem to have any problem with my cars and ethanol - just curious.

Here's a suggestion: Do you have a Nissan dealership nearby? They are having tons of fuel tank sending unit problems and I replace them all the time. I'm sure if you give a Nissan mechanic five dollars he'd be glad to give you one and the float will fit right on your sender. I know this because I have one on my tool box right now and It will be going in my car. You may want to get two to counteract the stiffness in your sender. If you come up empty let me know and I'll save a few back and mail them to you.
