I bought the car 3 years ago from CT, had it shipped to Kansas and put out some feelers about restoring the car. The car was covered with a tarp in a barn and has not been on the road since 1971. It has the 276ci Firdome and TipToe transmission. Green on light green exterior.
The guy I bought it from, his grandmother bought it new and was the only owner. It has about 80,000+ miles on it and as I said the interior is absolutely perfect condition as she had seat covers installed on it at purchase. All chrome is there, has some bubbles on the chrome due to being stored under a tarp but everything is there and in great shape. The paint is all there but as with the chrome, the tarp being on it for 40 years has caused some issues.
I also have another 276ci Firedome complete engine, TipToe transmission (separate) and bell housing attached to motor, rear axle with drums attached, steering wheel (plastic missing, only wire left) and steering column with box attached, "A" arms with drums attached and the driveshaft from a separate 1952 Desoto to throw in as a package deal for the right price.
Photos can be provided and further details provided if anyone is interested, it is in the back corner of my shed and is dusty so I need to clean up the exterior a little for best photos.
I have another 1952 S17 Firedome daily driver that keeps me busy enough, it is time to pass the other Desoto on to a good home. I had bought the extra parts as insurance since some parts seem to be made from "unobtanium".
This offer is posted with no photos as of yet and no price attached as I really do not have time to go clean it up and take photos at the moment, but if you are really interested and not just wasting "our" time, I will make the time to do so. Show me some interest, we can get serious at that point.
The Desoto and extra parts are located in a small town not too far from Wichita Kansas.
