I received an email asking for some help regarding a 1950 DeSoto Deluxe. The new owner is trying to get a title and the state DMV is requesting the VIN with verification from 2 different locations
Aside from the plate by the door, is the VIN marked anywhere else on the car?
What is the range of VINs for a 50 DeLuxe?
Thanks

You did not say from where the person is living.
If the vehicle is in the State of Colorado the information
for the Title is the Engine Number in 1950 ( The number
Stamped on the pad near the Generator ). Change
the engine and The Paper-work is wrong.
Several years later it was changed to the Vehicle
ID. Number .
This is something that I learned by being part of The
State of Colorado's "Old Car Counsel".
