Hello all,

Does anyone know where I can find the part numbers for brushes for the generator on a 1950 Carryall L6 engine?

I am searching for a set of these. So far, I've found a set on eBay showing the following:
Niehoff Generator Brush Set # AL-101
and
at Rock Auto as: STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS Part # EX57
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=445471

Which one is correct, or are they both correct? Are there other sources for these and other electrical items?

Ralph

Most Sincerely,

Ralph M Bohm

Ralph

Your local NAPA is the first place to ask this
question at.

The question they will ask you is ...

Make - De Soto

Year - 1950

But in the finnal most imprtant part is what is the
Model Number of The Generator ( these parts get
swapped/ changed about from what may have
been on the car in 1950 ).

I can't access that information actually at the moment as I am in Brasil and the car is in Denver. And I live in Maine. But for the low cost of the brushes, I am sure I can pick up a set of each.

Ralph,

There may be other sources for these, but Andy Bernbaum shows these available at oldmoparts.com . They may ask for your generator number.

Thanks, George. I forgot about Andy Bernbaum. I will look at what he may have for me.

Your car should have a 1257392 generator assembly which uses a 1253341 brush set. I believe Rock Auto lists this brush set number.
