So have inherited this S 14 convertible at the rob of my silly blog [url][ http://robklyver.blogspot.com//url ] sorry I cannot figure out how to upload the image
People tell me it's rare and all but I really want to make a cruiser that I'd toss the keys to my wife to run. I have done a refresh of a s 14 custom and didn't care for the brakes even all new and the gearbox e
Is hard to follow for the un initiated. Q: is it a bad IDE ago upgrade the brakes and perhaps the gearbox ? Or is this car so rare that I should restore it and get her a Miata
It's your car so you can do whatever you want. Just save all the original stuff so it can be put back if you or the next owner want to. There are rather inexpensive disc brake conversions that people seem to like. You can also buy a hotrod style under floor power brake booster with a dual master cylinder. Swapping in a conventional 3 speed is not that hard and I've heard they even made a 3 speed OD in the late 50's Mopars. There is a member who owns a car like yours and who has made some of these upgrades to his car, maybe he'll put in his two cents. Miata? Hmm, great car but not a DeSoto. If it was me I would trade the 50 for a 55 or 56. They've got everything you need although I'd still upgrade the brakes. Years ago I had a 55 Sportsman, what a car!!!!
