Hi all,

Apparently for the first some months of 1949 (S-13-2) production they did not punch the hole in the inner fender so that one could adjust the sector shaft of the steering box. There is a tech note about cutting a one inch hole in the fender.

I wanted to ask true 1949 Owners (not the warmed over 1948's) if they can look and see if they have a factory stamped hole in the inner fender. If you do, I would like to ask if you can take a sheet of paper and make a template I can use to know exactly where to cut the hole.

Since the car is painted, I do not want to go fishing about in the hole cutting process.

Thanks, James

I can hopefully remember to check my '49 this evening.

It's supposed to be fun!

Gentle nudges are a good thing!

Sadly, I'm in the same boat as you. No hole cut in the front left inner wheel house for access to the steering box.

Might like to see that template too, when you get one.

I put in an email to Howard...hopefully he can come up with one.

James

PS. As an aside, I think that all the club technical advisors should have to check in to the website once a week for people asking year specific questions.
