Hi everyone, I pulled the distributor out of my car to change the points and condensor. The plate is missing on the dist. so I don't know the number. The points I bought for the car don't work (won't fit), it appears I don't have the original distributor. Are there any markings on it that would help me identify it? I will look tonight but don't have much confidence I will find anything. Does anyone have a good distributor for my car?, unless I can find a number for what I have it makes it difficult to get the right parts. Thanks in advance for your advice.
Dave, I get a lot of parts that are not correct. You almost need to know what the part looks like and try to get enough info on what you are buying. You should not write off the distributor - someone will know the number. They may need more info on your car's engine.
If you have the SME as what is in my 1950 then is is the IAP style. Are you able to provide a photo?
