Hi All,
Anyone have any idea if a 1949-1950 Desoto Convertible had the rear bow covered with a gray lining?
When I took the car apart, I remember that under the top material some of the old tacks that had not been removed when the later top was installed had some old stained gray material under the heads. The bow did not have anything on it at that time.
In the Master Parts Book, in Section 23-112 there is an entry 23-112-6 that shows "Lining, Top Bow (54") (Gray)" and has a part number of 739-341.
I am wondering if when they left the factory the rear bow was covered. It would make some sense as the bow does "Rub" on some of the other top arms when lowered all the way.
Anyone have any information one way or the other on this?
Best, James
