Greetings, I have a stock 1948 Custom S11 w/ Fluid drive. When I reach the speed of 30MPH, the trans kicks down to the first set of gears and throws the trans into neutral. I have changed out the kick down solenoid and it still does this. Can anyone recommend a repair person with knowledge of this problem in Southern California? I am located in Encino, Ca. Thanks!

Hi Stu, welcome to the message board. I don't know anyone in your area that can help you with the transmission but there is a DeSoto Club member that might be able to. He knows these transmissions very well. He said if you give him a call and explain your problem he will tell you what to look for. His name is Hennie Jacobs and he is in South Carolina. E-mail is gnvltran@bellsouth.net. Home phone is 864-834-5804. Cell phone is 864-360-3815.
