Left or right drum?
What is the serial number of your car?

Jason

It is cheaper to repair what you have than
to replace.

The front brakes have the same mechanical
and part needs as the rear brakes.

If you spent the funds to re-place front brakes
with some disc brake set up you will have
spent funds for brakes that still stop the car
in the same distance as a properly adjusted
1948 set of brakes and you will have the same
1948 arrangement in the rear.

I see and makes allot of sense So does are the rear and front brake drums the same.I'm sorry maybe dumb question I just trying to figure out stuff as i go.I do a lot of my own work on my current cars but this older car just a different animal.I have replaced all the floor pans and redone the dash and window garnishing in painted wood came out great put new coil points and wires on it. Do these older cars need timing as well ?? I have a small exhaust manifold leak were it bolts on. besides that the car is in decent condition just want to get on road have worked on it for 6 months now cant wait to drive it (= while i think of my gramp's (=

Hi Jason, the reason Mac was asking which side the drum was on is that the drivers side has left hand threaded lug bolts and the passenger side has right hand threads. You should put on a drum that has the correct thread. Do you have the lug bolts for the drum? If not, and you buy a used drum try to get the lug bolts with it. Les
