1947 desoto convertible, need to put springs on hood hinges, anyone tell me where the lower part is supposed to attach to.

Hooks into the body straight down from the hinge. A major pain to attach. One trick is to stretch it out and put washers/shims in the gaps to keep it long.

If I remember correctly. I stretched it out and installed a rod in the middle with V's notched in each end to keep it in place. The service manual isn't much help. If your hood needs any adjustment, according to the service manual this is the time to do it, with the springs off.
