Hello 🙂

I have not been able to find any fabric trim codes for the 1938 DeSoto.  My data plate indicates my car was built with trim code 631; would love to know what that is, as well as all others available that year. Anyone have them?

If you were a dues-paying member of the NDC (and it's easy to fix that by joining today! desoto.org/membership), I was going to suggest two options available to members. One would be to reach out to the 1938 model year tech advisor for the club and see if he knows or has literature on this. The other would be to reach out to the club librarian and see if the club has any 1938 literature (color and fabric book, data book, etc.) that shows the trim codes. The club library is a free service to club members. There was a recent change in the librarian position, so if you join and want to use this service, let me know and I'll get you the correct contact info.

The only non-club suggestion I have is to reach out to Chrysler historical and see if they are willing to look that up for you. I know they no longer do actual decoding work with their build card service, but may reply to a quick, specific question. desoto.org/historical

@michael-carney Glenn Colburn is the new librarian contact for your inquiry there. Best of luck!

FYI, it appears your membership expired on 7/1/22. You can easily reinstate at desoto.org/membership if you'd like.
