I am looking for a source for tie rod end ball joint assemblies for a 1931 DeSoto, model SA, 6 cylinder, 4 Dr. I am also looking for bushings and or rebuild kits for the drag link ends. I would really appreciate learning of a reliable source. Thanks, Jerry

Hi-20 years ago when I rebuilt my 30 Desoto steering linkage I had a local machine shop make new ball end cups for the drag link out of heat treatable steel. I sold the last of the extra sets years ago to other early owners.
As for the outside tie rod ends, keep an eye out on E-Bay as early Chrysler ends do come up occasionally.
Try Antique Auto Parts Cellar in Boston area for new parts. He does have some early items including the hardware to rebuild your fuel and water pumps. 781-335-1579.

You will be very fortunate if your steering box does not need a rebuild. I must pull my box off someday and give it a rebuild as it leaks pretty vigorously and steering is stiff doe to bearing wear on the worn.
