I want to replace the vertically mounted oil filter on my S2 with one of the correct style, mounted on the block below the starter. I need to fabricate a bracket or clamp to hold it there. I'm enclosing a couple of drawings, one from the S2 parts book and one a sketch of three possibilities I've come up with. Appreciate your opinion on these alternatives. Does any of the three sketches correspond to the correct, original design? If not, can you tell me how to improve?

Thanks.

-John

I got the answer to this question from the Airflow Yahoo group. The answer turned out to be there is a cradle for the filter as in diagrams A and C. It has a long slot in it, and the two-piece clamping band attaches to the cradle by inserting T-shaped ends into the slot. It closes with a pinch bolt as shown in all three versions.
