I can't seem to find any good pictures that illustrate the material covering the floor boards on my 1929 Roadster. Were the floor boards covered with carpet or just rubber?
Here's a good opportunity to plug club membership! The club has technical advisors for each of the model years, and they are at your disposal for questions about authenticity, repair, restorations, etc.
And actually, just because the National DeSoto Club is made up of a great bunch of people that want to be available to help people with their DeSotos, the list of tech advisors is published and available to anyone at desoto.org/resources
It's supposed to be fun!

Maybe I'm tooting my own horn, but as the editor of the club's bimonthly publication, the De Soto Adventures, you will either get a free membership with every year's subscription or a free annual subscription with every year's membership!
In each issue, you will get updated information regarding our Technical Advisors, technical articles including "Tools You Didn't Know You Needed", spreads on member's cars and specials offered by our Club Store. Each issue contains a Classified Ad Section that is free for members to post their items for sale and appeals for the "stuff" they may need.
Check out how affordable our memberships are in the box on the left under "RENEW or JOIN THE CLUB".
Thanks for considering a membership with the National De Soto Club
