Does anyone know anything about how many DeSoto's that were produced in August of 1928 were actually registered or title in 1928? I have been told it is only 6, but cannot find this figure anywhere.

I don't know the answer to your question.
Many states used the date of registration as the year on the title. Therefore, many cars were titled either the year prior or the year (or years) later than the model year just depending on when they were sold.
