I own a 29 k series desoto with a northeastern electric distributor. I was thinking about swaping out to something with availible parts. Was wondering about what else fits and would it be to any advantage to use a distributor with vacuum advance enlighten me of you can
William, Not sure if this is an easy to do replacement. From my early parts manual the ear;y desptps came with either Northeast or Delco electrical components. From what I know the coils which were specific to the ignition switch had the appropriate manufacturer coil attached to the starter switch via a flat bar. At one point I have a NOS starter switch with the key for a Northeast 29 Desoto but that has been sold.
I would suggest that you contact Les Pessavento from the NDC since he is into 29 and 30 Desoto's and is the perfect person that might beable to point you in another direction.
