<p>Your service manual explains this in the Electrical and Instruments chapter on pages 50 and 51.  Section b. on page 51 tells about the 5 volt step down.</p>
<p>For reference, here are some readings I was able to take:</p>
<p>Full fuel tank sender resistance- 1959 DeSoto 22 Ω, 1965 Chrysler 12 Ω, 1966 Dodge 5 Ω.</p>
<p>Temperature sending unit cold/normal operating temp-  1959 DeSoto 1100/70 Ω,  1966 Dodge 500/33 Ω.  The 1965 Chrysler only has cold and hot lights, no guage.</p>

<p>Unfortunately, the service manuals do not list the resistance of the sending units.  I was going to check the values on my 1959 Firesweep, but they may not match up with 1960.  The 1959 guages run on 12 volts, but starting in 1960 they run on 5 volts.  They may or may not be calibrated to use the same sending units.</p>]]></content:encoded>
