Hmmmmmmmm, Lots of American signs from the 30s and 40s and coming from India? Do old signs somehow wind up in India from the U.S.? I don't think so. India makes tons of these signs displaying all kinds of crazy kitsch made for the U.S. You see a lot of them for sale at swap meets and car shows. Take my word for it, they are reproductions. I had a large metal sign 5 ft. tall that I got in the 80s from a Wisconsin Chrysler dealership that had gone out of business. When I got it, it was still in the wrappers. It was a sign showing a 6 volt battery with big letters saying MOPAR Batteries. I had never seen it before or since. I paid about $25 for it. I sold it about ten years ago on Ebay for over $1300! That's what some of these original automotive signs go for! That being said, I have bought some of these repro signs just to hang in my garage because I like automotive signs and the bright colors. I just looked at some of this seller's signs. Boy are they overpriced for fakes! Don't waste your money on these. They shouldn't cost over $40 or $50!

https://www.ebay.com/sch/rohinsahar_0/m ... 7675.l2562

If they are original, they are being offered at a fraction of their real value. They are more likely in line with this feedback left by a buyer for the seller:

These are overpriced fakes made on scrap metal, but look ok hanging in garage

Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it likely is.

If you are going to be a collector of the old porcelain signs get ready to spend real big bucks. If you just want a sign to hang in your basement or garage then get a reproduction sign they cost less and do the same effect. It is also hard to resell this original signs in my mind because of the cost to buy them and ship them.

I would spend the money on getting the car in great condition prior to spending big buckets on signs you can only look at the sign but you can drive your car and have a lot more fun with it and not just look at a costly sign on a wall.

Makes me wonder if they are vintage or reproductions? Nothing indicated on postings, another potential red flag, they are coming out of India? Any thoughts on these, I mean, for sure would look cool in my garage!

Let me know what you all think.
