The springs have to be re tempered to restore the ride& height.MY 59 Firesweeps rear springs were straight,no arch left.I bought a new set from Springs& Things.,saved a lot of time. 8)

I went ahead and installed the helper springs which raised the rear of the car by almost 2 inches, making it more level and greatly improving the view over the hood.
It rides great on smooth roads, but I did notice some "clunking" in the rear whenever I hit a small bump or pothole. I think the helper springs have stiffened up the leaf springs rear of the axle.
