My spies in Oregon sent me some photos of Mike and Jan Bresee's 1956 DeSoto Firedome station wagon. It made an appearance at the Clackamette Park car show on July 15th in Gladstone, Oregon.

There is more, here is the right rear shot of this wagon with the tailgate open. Notice the fin added to the 1956 models. This car is really nice. Check out the wood on the load floor.

Now for the good stuff. Here is a left side view of the engine in this car. Notice the vacuum tank for the enclosed bellows power brakes. The power steering pump changed to a smaller unit in 1956. 12 volts in 1956 too. This car is beautiful!
