<p>I have some play in my '55s idler. Does anyone have experience with a steering idler repair kit? I would seem to be a viable option but the workshop manual states that replacement is the only repair possible. However new ones are very expensive. Are the kits OK?</p>

Same make, model, year, engine combination etc! Now if I could only get her to be my daily driver the same as the other one was for almost 15 years! Still working out the bugs though!</p>

Other than ( have sent an email to Chrysler. ) contact Chrysler Australia trying to obtain Information relevant to the car, the has no Vin, just a Chassis number, engine is<span style="font-style: normal"><strong> </strong>V8 361 cu in. Can anyone help and advise thanks. If I can’t prove car was an Original Car RHD build for Australian Sale from Chrysler Aust.. then no Rego. </span></p>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Just wondering if there is a general consensus on what the best type of oil is to use in a 56 DeSoto.  Synthetic, conventional, blend, high mileage, weight of oil, add zinc additive???  As far as I know the engine has never been rebuilt.  Odometer reads about 95k.  Car is stored from Nov-April.  I have been using 10W-30 conventional oil and adding a zinc additive, but I'm thinking it might be beneficial to start using a high mileage oil and still add the zinc.  Engine burns a minimal amount of oil, but nothing noticeable.  It does not tend to overheat, unless idling for very long periods of time on a very hot day. </p>]]></content:encoded>
